Helen M
Storm
d. Aug 15, 2025
Obituary - Helen M. (nee Smith) Storm, 88, of Drexel Hill, PA, died August 15, 2025, at home. Born in Hazleton PA and raised in Delaware County, she was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan, class of 1954.
Helen served as a District Manager of circulation for the Inquire/Daily News and Phila Bulletin for years before retiring almost 25 years ago. She also was an Avon Lady. A member of St. Dorothy's Church, in Drexel Hill, she previously attended St. Bernadette of Lourdes Parish.
An avid Phila Sports fan, Eagles, Phillies and Sixers her loudest cheers were reserved for her children's and grandchildren's games. She helped found and coach the girls' softball program at Llanerch Hills and was a big music fan who loved to sing and dance. Whether camping, sporting events, amusements parks and roller coasters Helen was always on the go, dressing to the nines with hair make-up and jewelry perfectly in place. Attending their games or school productions, her presence meant a great deal to family.
Summers were spent in Rehoboth at Port Delmarva where spirited card games were enjoyed by the tight-knit community and life-long friends.
Quieter times were spent with family watching movies and TV comedies. She instilled in her family a sense of pride and purpose..
More than anything her strong faith served as an example to those she loved. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom and mom-mom; nothing else came close.
The last of 5 children of Albert and Nellie Smith, survivors include her husband of 67 years John, her children Marge (Rick) Gipe, Nancy (Kevin) Farrell, David (Justine) Storm and Patty (Nick) Lazer; grandchildren Tricia, Corilynne, Nicky, Brandy, Heather, Christian, Kyle, Collin, Samantha, Jason and Nickey; great-grandson Adam
