Harry William
Pyle
Sep 15, 1955 — Jun 22, 2025
Harry William Pyle, beloved husband, father (Pops), brother, grandfather (PopPop), and cherished friend, went home to be with the Lord and his late wife, Cyndy, on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was 69 years old. He was born and raised in Delaware, where he spent most of his life until he moved to Media, PA, where he lived for the last 25 years. Harry passed away peacefully, filled with faith and surrounded by love.
Born on September 15, 1955, to Dolores and Lewis Pyle, Harry grew up with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and the outdoors—values he carried with him throughout his life. He graduated from McKean High School, where he played center on the football team, a sport he began playing at age 8. Harry dedicated over 30 years of service to Amtrak. This career mirrored his strong work ethic and quiet dependability, along with a family tradition, as both his father and brother worked for the railroad. He met his partner and love of his life, Cyndy, in 1983 and became a family of 5 with Tracy, Wil, and Jeff living in Bear, Delaware.
He was also constantly finding new and creative ways to earn extra money while following his interests. He created and ran his own business, Harry the Holistic Handyman. He continued his education in computers at the beginning of the personal computing era and eventually used his knowledge to assist other foremen at Amtrak. After retirement, he worked at Nativity BVM in maintenance. Outside of work, Harry was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in long hikes with his dog Lacey, kayaking peaceful waters, and exploring nature's beauty. One of Harry's favorite hobbies was making knotted twine rosaries he gifted to family and friends and donated to military service members and those of faith.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Tracy & Sean of Media, PA; Wil & Felicia of Portland, OR; and Jeff & Gia of Bear, DE. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Amanda Clark, Kieran Clark, Brinley Clark, Garrett Clark, Jade Green, Liam Green, Darius Jones, Noah Green, Molly Green, Paige Ford, Peyton Ford, Phoenix Ford, Sydney Funk, and Leo Irizarry. Harry will also be dearly missed by his brother, Lewis Pyle, and his nephew, Jason Pyle, as well as his cousins and many lifelong friends. Harry had a large and supportive recovery community that was like family to him.
Services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Nativity BVM in Media, PA. Visitation will be held beginning at 9:30 am with a mass following at 11:00. A private burial will take place in the coming weeks. Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our House Ministries at 1441 S. 29th St, Philadelphia, PA 19146. More information is available at www.ourhouseministries.org
Harry's legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in all those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a man who showed up, especially when life was at its most difficult. As one of his long-time friends said, "You won't find a better guy."
