Grace Elizabeth Griffith February 18, 1927 - December 14, 2019 Grace Griffith, age 92, a resident of Middletown Township, Media, PA for 73 years, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends after a long illness. Grace was born in New York City but lived most of her childhood in Phoenixville, PA. She later moved to Folsom, PA where she graduated from Ridley Township High School in 1945. She was a long term parishioner of the Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church. Grace worked as a Nurse's Aide at Fair Acres for 23 years before she retired in 1985 to care for her husband. Grace was preceded in death by her parents Sarah (nee Burke) and Joseph A. Hohenleitner, by her husband of 39 years, Edward F. Griffith, Sr., her son, Edward F. Griffith, Jr., her siblings, Mary McAleer (Joseph) and Joseph Hohenleitner (Rosalie) and her son-in-law, Robert Morris Jr. (Margaret). Grace is survived by her sons, Ronald and Kevin and her daughters, Margaret (Robert) and Grace Fox (John), her grandsons, Eric Tinner (Kimberly), J. Martin (Kirsten), Nathan (Jennie), Andrew Crum and granddaughter, Chelsea Larrimer (Alex), and her great- grandchildren, Christian, Ryan, Tyler, Cameron and Lillian; cousins, Ann, Mary and Sam Bell, Robert Burke (Eileen) and Delores Ritter (John) and many Hohenleitner nieces and nephews. She loved attending family gatherings and found joy watching her beautiful great- grandchildren play together especially at the most recent Thanksgiving feast. She was a dedicated NASCAR fan and always routed for her favorite team, the New England Patriots. She was a devout Catholic and an avid reader of religious books. Grace was a member of the Legion of Mary and Pro-Life Prayer Group in Chester, PA for a period of time in 1998 and more recently co-hosted a small prayer group with friends from Nativity including Dorothy, John, Soledad, Herman, Alice and the late Father Mulgrew. She was an inspiration to many friends and neighbors, offering religious guidance. For several years she helped lead the morning rosary at her parish and introduced the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy to many people. Our family wishes to express appreciation to Nancy Mongan, Grace's best friend, who provided loving and spiritual companionship for many years. And finally, a special thank you to the Media Bayada Hospice team led by Bridget Bazarbashian, that provided compassionate care in her final months and guided our family when she needed us the most. Grace will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her... including her beloved cat, Katie. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 18 at 11 am. The viewing will be held prior to the mass from 9:45 to 10:45 am at Nativity B.V.M. Church, 30 E. Franklin St., Media, PA 19063 Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Highland Ave and N.
