George A. Lundy Sr. a long-time resident of Chester, PA passed away at the age of 93 on April 29, 2023, at Wallingford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford, PA. George was born and raised in Milledgeville, GA. He was a retired custodian of Chester Upland School District. George was better known as Pop-pop to his family.

Preceded by: Wife, Elkay Lundy; Cora P. Lundy, Daughter, Patricia Jones; and Grandsons: Louis Lindsay, and Joshua Jones.

Survivors: Sons: George A. Lundy Jr. and Edward Lundy; Daughters: Dale Lundy (Michael), Sandra Lundy, Barbara (Bobbie) Lundy-Whiting, and Denise Lundy; Stepsons: Andrew Lewis, Sylvester Lewis, and Abraham E. Powell. Grandchildren: Jaquetta Rayman (Kenneth), James Jones Jr. (Ruthy), Jamar Jones (Michelle), Latasha Broome (Lincoln), Sonya Lindsay, Jerimiah Jones, and Michael Lundy; and a multitude of great grandchildren.

Pop-pop loved watching movies including old cowboy cinema. His loved ones will remember his charming, witty, and quiet personality. He was independent and enjoyed doing things for himself. Pop-pop had a giving heart and loving spirit. He will be truly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Lighthouse Community Church located at 259 6th Street, Brookhaven, PA. The viewing will be at the same location from 11AM – 12PM. The service is from 12PM – 1PM.
