Obituary

Frederick Jackson Reece passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 17, 2025 at the age of 92 at Park Lane in East Goshen, PA.

Born in January of 1933 to his parents, the late Charlie and Charlotte (Stevers) Reece, he was raised in Middletown PA with his beloved brother Douglas. The family lived next door to Uncle Willet and Aunt Helen Reece and their children, Pat and Joe. After graduating from Media High School, Fred continued his education at the Academy of Aeronautics, earning a diploma and license to work on planes. In 1954, Fred married the love of his life, V. Sue (Thomas) Reece, before serving in the US Army. After his service, the couple returned to Delaware County where they raised their three daughters, Regina, Charlotte, and Beverly. Fred provided faithfully for his family, enjoying a long career in excavation. He continued to work into his 80's. He was known for his dependable work ethic and his exceptional skill in operating heavy equipment. He was respected and loved by the men who worked with him.

Fred and Sue served the Lord together and were longtime members of the Blue Church in Springfield PA. He was devoted to his family and was a faithful friend. He enjoyed true contentment in his life, exhibiting kindness, strength, love, and service based on his Christian faith. He loved the outdoors and had many interests including fishing, hunting, horseshoes, football, aviation, cars, riding motorcycles, and singing old hymns, especially with the Gaither's weekly TV program on Saturday nights.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Arlene McMahon Reece, his brother Doug, his sister Dixie, his granddaughter Sharon, and many close friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Sue Reece; his step-brother Charles McMahon, and his children Gina (Steve) Critchlow, Charlotte (Chris) Radbill, and Beverly Militello. In addition, Fred has 6 surviving grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Hillary, Christopher, Michael, and Renee. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, AJ, Logan, Freddy, Levi, Savannah, and Lydia.

Visitation & Burial (3/28/2025): Friends & Family may attend Fred's visitation on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Rigby, Harting & Hagan Funeral Home (15 E. 4th St, Media, PA)   Burial: Following the visitation there will be a burial at Middletown Presbyterian Church (273 South Old Middletown Road Media, PA). There will be a Military tribute to honor Fred's service to our nation.

Memorial Service (3/29/2025): Friends & Family may attend the Memorial Service for Fred on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at The Blue Church at 9:30 AM (940 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA) . There will be a visitation from 9:00 – 9:30 AM in the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Blue Church in Springfield in Fred's memory.
