Obituary

Frances Chandlee (nee Talbot), 73, of Swarthmore, PA, passed away on December 28, 2022 at home. Frances was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Frances was born on January 23, 1949 to Francis and Marie Talbot in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up in the Meadows section of Philadelphia with her brothers Dave, Bill and sister Patty. Frances attended Good Shepherd Catholic school and graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls in 1967.

Franny met Gerald Chandlee at a hot dog truck out front of GE in Philadelphia, and they wed in 1973. They were married for 49 years. They lived in Drexel Hill, Newtown Square and most recently Swarthmore. Franny loved spending time in Ocean City, NJ and Chesapeake City, MD with the love of her life, Gerald. She was an avid reader and was known by name at Waldenbooks and Barnes & Noble.

Franny worked most of her career as a keypunch operator at IVB, Fidelity and First Union banks. She also worked at Royal Bank as a tax processor and Dunwoody village as a mail carrier. Her favorite job was being a loving Mom and Mom-mom. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and making individual memories with them all.

Fran was predeceased by her father, Francis Talbot, her mother, Marie Talbot, and her sister Patricia Talbot.

Fran is survived by her loving and devoted husband Gerald, her daughter Dawn (Sean), her son Scott (Audrey), her brothers Dave (Linda) and Bill (Barbara), her brother in laws Paul (Nancy) and Bill (Cathy), and beloved Mom-mom to eight grandchildren: Zachary, Joshua, Sean Jr., Benjamin, Ethan, Dillon, Lucas, and Katie and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Saint John Chrysostom Catholic Church - Wallingford, PA on January 5, 2023. Visitation from 10:00 - 10:45 AM. Mass will begin at 11 AM.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Frances's name to the Alzheimer's Association ( https://www.alz.org/ ).
