Eugene Woolsey Gamble, 82, of Morton, PA, known to most as 'Gene', passed away peacefully at Broomall Manor Nursing Home on September 2, 2021.
Gene was born in Chester, PA to May and Woolsey Gamble. He grew up with his siblings: Theresa Davis (Wayne), May Conley (Omar), Judy Ward (Bill), David Gamble (Barbara), Joanne Long (George), Richard Gamble (Dennis), and Cousin Tommy Gamble. As a teen, he loved hiking, swimming, bicycling, riding motor scooters, and fixing cars. Gene proudly served his country by enlisting in the Army as soon as he was old enough. Following his military service, he worked at Boeing Vertol as a helicopter final assembly mechanic where he worked for 35 years until retirement.
In his early 20's, he married Dolores Catwick (Predeceased) of Chester, PA and started a family of six children. As a hardworking father, he often supplemented his income as a house painter and contractor. Being active was important to Gene who often entertained his family hiking, cycling, visiting Longwood Gardens, sightseeing in Lancaster, and vacationing in Wildwood, NJ and Hershey, PA.
Later in life, Gene fell in love with his partner, Dorothy Clemens (Predeceased), and had their daughter, Kristen Carr and continued many of the same activities. He also enjoyed singing karaoke and spending time at the casinos with Dottie.
Gene is survived by siblings Theresa Davis, Joanne Long, Richard Gamble, cousin Tommy Gamble, and his seven children Michelle Fallin (Dave), Raymond Gamble (Terry), Bernadette Gamble-Luptowski, Stephanie O'Hagan (Thomas), Stephen Gamble, Mary Fischer, and Kristen Carr (John). He was preceded in passing by his mother-May (Thornton) Gamble, father-Woolsey Gamble, sister-Judy Ward, brother-David Gamble, and sister-May Conley. Gene also had 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
