Eric Thomas McClatchy, 54, of Haverford, PA passed away on February 3 ^rd . Eric lived in Haverford for the past 25 years after growing up in Newtown Square while enjoying summers at the family home in Long Beach Island, NJ. Eric attended St. Anastasia School, Malvern Preparatory School and Temple University, receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting.

Eric is survived by his siblings Betsy (husband Paul), Anne, Susan, and Jim, thirteen nephews and nieces, and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. Eric was predeceased by his parents, James and Joanne.

Eric will be remembered as a kind soul, a dear friend, an easy-going spirit with a playful sense of humor, and someone who lived his life with humility and integrity. As the youngest of five siblings, while he may not have received the most attention, his presence was always felt due to his friendly demeanor.

Eric was an avid Philly sports fan and spent much of his time growing up watching or attending sporting events with his Dad and his brother Jim. They were all in attendance at the greatest Eagles win prior to the Super Bowl, having seen the Eagles beat the Cowboys at the Vet in 1981, earning a spot in Super Bowl XV.

His other interests included sailing, fishing, and reading.  He lived a quiet life in his adult years and had a positive and lasting impact on those who knew him.

Eric will forever be missed, but there is great comfort knowing that he in the warm embrace of Our Lord and reunited with his Mother and Father in Heaven.

Eric's memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd. Media, PA 19063.  Friends and family may call from 10 - 11 am in the church.  Mass will begin at 11 am.
