Elizabeth “Penny” G. Henwood, age 79, passed away at Paoli Hospital on August 1, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Penny is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Emile J. Henwood, III. They were longtime residents of Media, PA where they raised their two boys, Andrew and Eric. Originally from Pennsauken, NJ, Penny was a graduate of Pennsauken High School. She worked as an office manager for Iacobucci Homes for over 20 years, but her main focus was creating a loving home for her family.

An accomplished athlete, Penny was a 6-time National Women’s Rowing Champion and was inducted into the National Rowing Hall of Fame in 2022. She was an avid skier and remained very active and fit her entire life. She spent many quiet hours gardening and loved vacationing at the beach. Penny was blessed with four grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.

Penny is survived by her husband, Emile; sons, Andrew Henwood (Katelyn) of Kennett Square and Eric Henwood (Eve) of Glenmoore; four grandchildren Brooke, A.J., Jake and Audrey; as well as her brother, James Gibson of Shamong, NJ.

A memorial service will be held in October at Penny’s church, Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli. Please check back for additional details.
