Obituary

Elizabeth Egee MacMillan, age 98 years, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2019.

Elizabeth was born in Pitman, New Jersey, to David Kappes Murdock and Matilda Woods Murdock. The family subsequently moved to Thomas Avenue in Philadelphia where they lived for many years.  Summers were spent in Wildwood at the Jersey shore where the family owned a hotel.

On September 9, 1941, she became the wife of the late Walter Warren Egee to whom she was married for over 42 years until he passed away at the age of 67.  She subsequently married Archibald MacMillan to whom she was happily married until his death after twelve years of marriage.

Betty was a full time wife and mother, providing a loving, caring home for her three children, Barbara Jane, Robert Warren and Marjorie Jean. The family moved to Wallingford, Pa., in 1957 which remained the family home until 2001.  She loved golf, gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, bowling, bridge and rug hooking. She was an active member of the Wallingford Presbyterian Church, Edgemont Country Club and Springhaven Country Club.

In addition to her children, Betty is survived by her four grandchildren: David Martin Vincentsen, Kirsten Vincentsen Wolfe, Elizabeth Anne Egee and Andrew Benjamin Egee and six great grandchildren: Tabitha, Zachary and Amelia Vincentsen and Campbell, Avery and James Wolfe.  She was predeceased by her brother William James Murdock and her sister Dorothy Mae Murdock.

A memorial service will be held on Friday December 13 at 11 am.  Calling will be from 10-11 am at Rigby, Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th St. Media, Pa.

Burial to follow at Edgewood Cemetery 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to the Warren Egee Memorial Scholarship at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa.
