Elizabeth Robertson Ballaron "Betty", age 90, died peacefully on January 3, 2021. Mrs. Ballaron was a longtime resident of Glen Mills before moving to Shannondell 15 years ago. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Myrtle Friedrich, Betty spent her childhood years in Upper Darby and Newtown Square. She was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School, Class of 1948. Betty enjoyed her role as a homemaker and was proud to raise five wonderful children. She was the wife of Lincoln Boswell for three years before his death and was married to the late James J. Robertson for 41 years. She later became the wife of Francis J. Ballaron with whom she spent 12 loving years before his death in 2017.
A faithful Christian, Elizabeth was a member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church for the last 12 years. She was a longtime active member of Middletown Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Always involved in her local community, Betty volunteered with the Food Cupboard, made meals for shut-ins and helped with Bingo at Fair Acres. She was a wonderful cook and a lover of animals. Betty enjoyed travel and loved music. She had a special talent for sewing, quilting, and interior decorating.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Scott James Robertson, and three grandchildren Jason and Joshua Robertson and Amy Caglia.
Survivors include her children, Lincoln John Boswell (Susan) of Downingtown, Eric Boswell (Emelita) of Milton, FL, Deborah Robertson Caglia of Collegeville, Rebecca Robertson Messick of Glen Mills, and her daughter-in-law Betty Robertson of Media; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held by Betty's family at Middletown Presbyterian Church.
