Edward J. Kerneckel, Jr., age 79, a longtime resident of Glenolden, passed away on March 28, 2021. Born and raised in South Philadelphia to the late Edward and Elizabeth Kerneckel, Ed was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School.

He spent many of his younger years in West Palm Beach, FL where he worked in the hospitality industry.  An avid golfer, Ed worked part-time with Paxon Hollow Country Club.  As a funeral assistant he was a pivotal part of Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home and Toppitzer Funeral Home for over twenty years. Always a professional, Ed was hardworking, personable and he paid close attention to detail.

Ed's positive disposition was contagious.  He never forgot a birthday and always checked in on his friends and family.  He enjoyed a good meal, sharing stories and he was always prepared with a joke.
