Dorothea W. Moore (née Watkinson), age 79, passed away at home on June 4, 2023.  A resident of the Media area for nearly 60 years, Dorothea leaves behind her three sons and three granddaughters.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Yeadon to the late William L. and Dorothy (née Burger) Watkinson, Dorothea was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School.  She studied elementary education at Cabrini College and later obtained her master's degree from St. Joseph's University. She worked as an elementary school teacher and later with Cabrini College's Admissions Department.

With a creative mind and a love for all things beautiful, Dorothea developed a vast collection of antiques and keepsakes. She had a great appreciation for French language and culture and enjoyed gardening and creating unique landscaping and floral arrangements.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her dear friend, William O'Hara.

She is survived by her sons Brett K. Moore of Newtown Square, Eric C. Moore of Newtown Square, and Gregg C. Moore (Sandra) of West Chester; three granddaughters Caitlyn R. Garr, Ava Rose Moore, and Riley E. Moore; and her brother William J. Watkinson (Elizabeth) of Paoli.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media on Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 am. There will be a visitation in the church from 10 – 11 am. Burial will be at Resurrection-Calvary, Rockdale in Aston.
