Doris J.
Blair
Apr 15, 1923 — Feb 21, 2022
Doris Blair was called home by God on February 21, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born Doris Marie Jaiser on April 15, 1923, in Philadelphia, and graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1941. Doris served in the USO during World War II. She married her husband, Warren J. Blair, in December 1944. After the war, the couple lived in Philadelphia before building their own home and moving to Westtown PA in the mid-1950's.
Family was always the center of Doris' world. Though her three children came later in her life, she was an engaged and loving mother. Doris was active in school and church activities and held the position of Tax Collector for Thornbury Township, Chester County for many years.
After her husband's passing in 1998, Doris moved to Media PA to be closer to family. She spent the last five years of her life as a happy and active resident of the Riddle Village Retirement Community in Media.
She is survived by her children Vikki, Don (Mary), and Jim (Marilyn), as well as her grandchildren Holly Blair, Kelly Penman (Alex), Doug Blair, Robin Wright (Scott), Patrick Blair and Kimberly Blair, and her great-grandson, Walker Wright, who all knew her as "Fifi." She was a member of the Delaware Valley Christian Church in Media.
A memorial service for Doris will be held at Delaware Valley Christian Church on Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m. The service will also be livestreamed at DVCC's YouTube Channel . Following the service, dessert will be served in the church Fellowship Hall, in honor of Doris' unapologetic love of sweets.
