Doreen Elcock, 87 of Media, PA.
Doreen Elcock (nee Dookhoo), 87 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 25th, 2021. She died at home surrounded lovingly by her children and grandchildren. Born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana, Mrs. Elcock dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She loved nature, especially her birds, and was an avid gardener. She and her husband of fifty-eight years immigrated from Guyana to Media, PA. She is pre-deceased by her husband, the late Leon B. Elcock (2012) and her mother, Mrs. Adelaide Wharton. She is survived by her eight children: Claire Hunte (Kenrick) of Silver Spring, MD, Donna L. Elcock, O.D. of Media, PA, John Elcock (Karen) of Havertown, PA, Adrianne Elcock-Somaru, D.M.D. of Media, PA, Horace Elcock (Faith) of Media, PA, June Elcock-Messam, M.D. (Conrad) of Upper Providence, PA, Albert Elcock (Judy) of West Chester, PA and Leon Elcock II (Andrea) of Marlton, NJ; also survived by her twenty grandchildren: Ayanna Marville, Keita Marville, Courtney Elcock, Andrew Elcock,
Jaydon Elcock, Paige Elcock, Patrick Somaru, Peter Somaru, Paul Somaru, Sherwin Elcock, Gabriel Elcock, Julia Messam, Alexander Messam, Brianna Messam, Christian Messam, Jonathan Elcock, Brynn Smart, Aaron Elcock, Leon Elcock III and Nigel Elcock; five great grand-children: Ezra Marville, Alani Marville, Tristan Elcock, Lisa Marie Elcock and Violet Elcock; siblings Leila Sheppard (Montgomery), Colbert Seupersaud, Verona Jackson, Carl Wharton, Compton Wharton and Lynette Wharton; extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones. The memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Elcock requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the following non-profit organizations founded by her children: Great Faith Vision (GFV)
