Donald E. Brown of Media, PA died on October 8, 2026. He was born on January 27,1929 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Viola and Irving Brown. A graduate of Kensington High School, Don received his bachelor degree from the University of Buffalo in 1951 and an MBA from the Wharton School in 1955. 

At Penn, Don met Mary Rose Beetlestone. They married in 1956 and raised three children in Bryn Mawr, PA. They enjoyed a strong and loving marriage for 64 years, with Mary passing in 2020.

Don worked in reinsurance at Provident Mutual, INA and eventually CIGNA through the INA merger with Connecticut General that formed CIGNA. He was a CLU, retiring from CIGNA in 1992. 

Don and Mary were loyal and dedicated members of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church for over 30 years, and Swarthmore Presbyterian Church upon their move to Riddle Village in Media. Through the years they regularly volunteered and gave their time to the community, especially to programs for the homeless.

He is survived by his son David (Joanne), his daughter Catherine, grandchildren Christian and Alexandra (Brian), a great granddaughter, Jacqueline, and numerous nieces and nephews. His son Edward predeceased him.

Don's life was one of sacrifice, generosity, and kindness. He was a good Christian, a loving father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by those who came to know him.
