Dolores C.
Bratz
d. Oct 23, 2023
Dolores C. Bratz (nee Griffiths)
We thank God for the life of Dolores (Dee) Bratz, age 90, of Springfield PA, who returned to her Savior on October 23, 2023, after a faith-filled life of love and joy. Dee is fondly missed by her sons, Keith (Wendy), and Doug; two grandchildren, Jenna (Rob), and Jeff (Jessica); and 5 great-grandchildren (Kaitlin, Jack, Gus, Nora, and Bo). She was pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years, Fred, and her son, Mark. Dee had a warm and loving nature and was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Devoted to her faith and family, Dee always had a welcoming smile for all those who loved her.
Dee loved to chat with her friends and family and could often be found visiting with them on her beloved back deck. As an avid reader, Dee especially enjoyed historic fiction and faith-based Amish novels, and was a member of two book clubs. Dee also loved solving her daily "Jumble" and other word puzzles, while enjoying her evenings in the den. She was also a life-long Phillies and Eagles fan. As a lover of plants, flowers, trees and nature, Dee loved to visit Longwood Gardens and Jenkins Arboretum as well as driving through the picturesque landscapes of Lancaster County, while fully enjoying every season of the year. Dee loved giving gifts, and she accepted the simplest of gifts with smiles, excitement and gratitude to all. She found immense joy and beauty in simple things and simple gestures. Her life was a testimony of her faith in Christ.
Dee was a graduate of John Bartram High School in Philadelphia and was AV specialist in the Springfield (Delco) School District for many years. Active in her community, Dee was president of the Springfield Women's Club and was enshrined in the Springfield Volunteer Wall of Fame. She was also very active at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, having served as Sunday School teacher, President of the Lutheran Women's Club, and Church Council.
Dee will be sorely missed but she knows Jesus as her Savior and through that love, she loved those around her.
