Obituary

Deborah J. Albright, 72, daughter of Nancy and Thomas Cluelow, passed away at home on April 8, 2024 after a long battle with multiple myeloma.

Growing up in Upland, PA, Debbie attended Penncrest High School, where she played basketball and worked on costumes and props as a member of the Emanons theater group. Outside of school, she was a member of the Masonic organization Rainbow Girls and was awarded their highest honor, the Grand Cross of Color.

Debbie married the love of her life, Ted, on September 18, 1976, and together they raised two beloved daughters. She spent twelve years as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Service Unit Director, running programs like 50th Anniversary of Girl Scouting, Core Camp and Mom and Me weekends at Camp Hidden Falls. She was a frequent volunteer at Marple Newtown High School, running the after-prom party even while battling breast cancer. Above all else, she enjoyed supporting her daughters in all of their activities.

Debbie had a lifelong passion for sewing, a skill passed down from her mother. As a teen, she prided herself on her ability to make similar clothing to the trendy Villager brand. She went on to make countless Halloween and theatrical costumes, outfits, and prom dresses over the years as her daughters grew. In her retirement years, she loved making handmade fabric Christmas ornaments and recently completed a memory quilt, a meaningful project which incorporated fabrics from past sewing projects.

For the past ten years, Debbie worked for Oliver Heating as the biller for the commercial department. She was passionate about travel, enjoying regular trips to Florida with her family and visiting Disney World with her grandsons. More recently, she took the trip of a lifetime with her best friend, traveling through the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Her faith was deeply important to her, particularly as a source of strength in the past few years as she navigated her difficult health journey.

Debbie will forever be remembered for her creativity, compassion, and dedication to her loved ones. As a breast cancer survivor, involved mother, caring wife, and doting grandmother, her warmth touched everyone she knew. Her legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Debbie is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Tad) Zawadzki of Eagleville and Heather Albright of Broomall, and two grandsons, Alexander and Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Ted" Albright.

Visitation 12:30 Tues afternoon followed by Funeral Service at 1:30 at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington Cem. 2900 State Rd. Drexel Hill, Pa 19026.
