David Duffield Fox Jr. (Dave), age 90, a longtime resident of Ambler, PA, passed away at Naamans Creek Country Manor on August 16, 2022.  Dave was born in Bridgeton, NJ to David Duffield Fox Sr. and Yvonne Dove. At the age of 9 Dave moved to live with his French grandmother, Francine Dove. He lived on a farm in NJ and learned to drive a tractor at age 10.

After his junior year at Millville High School, he moved to West Philadelphia with his father.  He graduated from West Philadelphia High School and later took courses in drafting.  Dave worked at Michael Flynn as a draftsman for many years.  Later in life Dave took a bartending course and worked as a bartender at Plymouth Country Club, Flourtown Country Club, The Homestead Restaurant and The Wheel Pump.

Dave was married to Madeleine nee Smallwood in 1951 until her passing in 1994.

Dave lived in Ambler for 50 years and was known to everyone. He enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, golf, playing the piano and was a great artist.  He took courses in anthropology, political history at the Delaware Valley college in Doylestown, Pa. and was a member of The Picasso Club at the Ambler Senior Center.  He enjoyed learning and participated in class discussions.

Dave was a kind and gentle man who loved his children and grandchildren.  He was always present for holiday dinners. Intent to make people smile, Dave was always prepared with a silly pun or a dad joke.

He will be missed by his children, Barbara Ryan of Media and David Lee Fox of Telford, and his granddaughters, Kelley Ryan of Roslyn, WA and Kathryn Ryan of Chesterbrook, along with his sister, Yvonne Seiwell of FL.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
