Obituary

Claudette S. Agneta, 86

Private Service for immediate family only
It is with much sadness to announce that Claudette Stewart Agneta passed away peacefully in
the company of her family on January 23 at the age of 86.
Claudette was a fashionable, creative and smart woman with a true zest for life. Her passions
included duplicate bridge, which she played up to five days a week, and she often won master
points for her fine performance. She also loved to dance, a talent she most certainly inherited
from her Irish/Scottish father. Nothing could keep her in her seat when the music started, not
even in her later years when her knees began to fail her. Her taste and style was impeccable,
a trait inherited from her French mother. She designed and sewed her own clothes, and was
always the most fashionable woman in the room. Professionally, she had her own floral design
business, created gift packages, and planned holiday parties and NYC trips for her last
employer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
Claudette's greatest passion was her family, whom she cherished. She attended every one of
her son, Stewart's soccer and lacrosse games, and was the most vocal person in the crowd.
She loved the company of her daughter Kristen, whether it was spent laying on a beach or just
chatting on the phone as they did multiple times each day. She was gregarious and a great
conversationalist, something her husband John loved most about her. While she hated the
cold weather, she never wanted to move south, always desiring to be near her family. She
loved doting on her grandchildren and her every thought revolved around doing special things
for them. Holidays were always a special time for Claudette, an opportunity to be surrounded
by everyone she loved.
A private service will be held for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to a charity of your choice in Claudette's memory.
