Ciljeta Saraci, age 91, passed away on October 17, 2022 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She was a twenty-year resident of Broomall, PA.

The daughter of a pharmacist, Ciljeta was born in Shkodra, a northern city in Albania, and spent the majority of her life in Tirana, Albania's capital.  Her life was filled with political and religious strife from which she never backed down.  She was imprisoned at age 16 while supporting her father in his fight for freedom against a totalitarian regime. Born and raised a Catholic, she remained true to her faith even when it was outlawed by her government.  While she couldn't practice her religion freely, she kept it alive in her home. Ciljeta dedicated much of her time to visiting incarcerated priests and ensured that her only daughter, Daina, was baptized Catholic.

Ciljeta was the beloved wife of the late Sokrat Saraci who preceded her in death in 2002, just one year before she immigrated to the United States.   She was overjoyed to come to the U.S. to be with her family.  In Albania, Ciljeta worked as a photo editor in one of the country's largest magazines.  She was an accomplished pianist and shared her musical talents as a piano teacher.

Ciljeta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Daina and Arben Dodbiba, and her granddaughter, Dr. Kristi Dodbiba and her husband Spiros Floratos.  She was overjoyed with the recent birth of her great-grandson, Theodoros Floratos.

Friends and family are invited to a calling at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20th, from 3:00 - 4:00 pm and again Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 am. There will be a Catholic Liturgical Prayer Service at the funeral home Friday, October 21st, at 10:30 am.  The family will hold a private committal service immediately following the prayer service.
