Christopher J.
Dougherty
May 3, 1973 — Aug 11, 2023
Christopher Joseph Dougherty, of Philadelphia, PA, shed his earthly pain to be present with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was at home surrounded by loved ones.
Chris was born on May 3, 1973 in Seoul, Korea and adopted in 1975 by William and Ethel Dougherty. He resided in Lansdowne, PA until the family moved to Springfield, PA. Chris attended St. Kevin's grade school and Cardinal O'Hara High School (Class of 1991). He graduated from Temple School of Pharmacy in 1998. Chris launched his career as a Senior Clinical Data Manager/Project Manager for Icon Clinical Research, then onto Genentech (San Francisco), AstraZeneca, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, and Covance.
Chris always focused on the positives in life and enjoyed hiking, travel, music, movie nights in sweatpants, spreadsheets, weekly haircuts, and Wednesday night dinners at Mom's. He was a loyal friend to those he met in grade school, high school, college, and in his career. He united friends and relatives especially by planning events, celebrations, and dinner outings, making every moment spent together special and fun. Chris especially loved Major, his Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier. Major attended Chris' weekly barber appointments, hiking trips, and brunches, and had a special outfit for every event.
Christopher was predeceased by his father William Dougherty and his brother William Dougherty Jr. He is survived by his mother Ethel Dougherty, sister Regina Dougherty and brother-in-law Ennio Magnarelli, sister Anne McGreal and brother-in-law Mark McGreal, nieces Jacki and Lauren Magnarelli, Amanda and Courtney McGreal, and nephews Ryan Little and Jerry Worley.
