Obituary

Christopher Hans Dietze, age 61, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Media, Christopher was the son of the late Carla (nee Ryon) and Hans Dietze.  He was a member of the Third Street Media Friends Meeting all his life. As a boy, Christopher attended Media Providence Friends School where his mother, Carla, was active as the librarian. He later graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in audio engineering.

Chris became an expert in the field of audio engineering, lending his expertise to five different U.S. presidents who benefited greatly from his work. He was a member of IATSE Local 8 Union and he purchased and became C.E.O. of Clear Sound Inc. in 2000. Many local organizations and businesses came to rely on Chris' expertise in all things audio. His presence in the field will be deeply missed.

Chris was an avid model airplane flyer.  He served as V.P. and later President of the Delco R/C Club and was a member of Prop Stoppers, both model airplane flying clubs.  Chris volunteered with the M.S. Society, Race for the Cure, and New Covenant Ministries of New Jersey. He was also a consistent supporter of many local charities.

Chris will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor and the many lives he touched with his kindness and compassion. His absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

He is now reunited in peace with his beloved mother, Carla Ryon Dietze, and his cherished pets, Maggie Mae and Bridget Jones, who brought him years of unconditional love and companionship.

Chris was married for thirty years to his beloved wife, Margaret "Lynne" Jones Dietze. In addition to Lynne, Chris is survived by his father, Hans Dietze of Ridley Park, and his sister, Laura Pino (Dan) of Denver, Colorado.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on October 19th, 2:00 pm at Media Friends Meeting (125 W 3rd St Media, PA by the Media Friends School.)
