Carol M.
Raudenbush
Sep 8, 1948 — Jan 9, 2021
Carol M. Raudenbush, age 72, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on January 9, 2021 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.
Born Carol M. Hopper to the late Harold and Mary Hopper in the Logan section of Philadelphia, outgoing Carol was a graduate of Little Flower High School. She lived much of her life in Philadelphia before settling in Abington 17 years ago. She was the beloved wife of George Raudenbush who predeceased her after almost 39 years of marriage.
Carol attended the St. Agnes Hospital Medical Laboratory Tech Program which resulted in a twenty-year career with Dr. Nemez as a laboratory technician. She also worked as a dealer and manager for Tupperware for over 40 years. While she enjoyed her careers, Motherhood naturally came first to Carol. She made sure her children did well in school and shuttled them around to figure skating competitions, ice hockey games, girl scouts and boy scouts, and many other activities.
Carol dedicated much of her time to her faith and to her church. She was a longtime active member of St. William Parish in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia and, more recently, a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians in Abington. At St. Williams, she ran the New Years Eve fundraiser party and volunteered in the snack bar at the parish carnival. She also volunteered at Wissahickon Skating Club as a snack bar and judges' hospitality attendant for competitions and testing sessions.
A devoted grandmother, Carol visited her grandchildren every Sunday, when healthy. She shared her love of baking, arts and crafts, and vibrant sense of humor with them. She also enjoyed crocheting and crocheted hats for St. Christopher's Children's Hospital.
Carol is survived by her loving children: Doreen Raudenbush (Josh Ortego) of Media, PA and Brian Raudenbush of Ridgefield, CT; 5 grandchildren: Andrew, Brayden, Lucas, Aaron and Kendall; and siblings: Michael Hopper, Joseph Hopper, Eileen Clark, James Hopper and Daniel Hopper.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16th, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd. Media, PA 19063. There will be a visitation hour from 10-11 am. Mass will begin at 11 am. Burial at Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be on Monday, January 18th at 11:30 am.
