Obituary

Carol J. Healy (nee Van Horn), age 68, a resident of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully at Riddle Hospital on October 27, 2026.

Carol was one of three children born to the late Robert and Joan Van Horn. Her childhood years were spent in Glen Mills, PA where she graduated from West Chester East High School in 1975. Carol worked for many years in various customer service roles. Her most recent position was at Naaman’s Creek Nursing Home. She loved the residents there like her own family.

Carol was the ultimate competitor – and boy, did she love to win! She loved playing Horseshoes, Bingo, and Poker along with other card games. She was an avid pool player for many years and a competitive bowler who was proud to have bowled a 300 game. When originally diagnosed with breast cancer, she fought it and won, living 5 years cancer-free. Unfortunately, her cancer returned and took this beautiful soul.

Carol had an abundance of friends whom she cherished. She was absolutely devoted to her mother and father and took wonderful care of them in their final years. Family was everything to Carol. She treasured time spent with them, especially her beloved nieces and nephews.

Carol is survived by her longtime partner and fiancé, Robert Foth, with whom she shared 21 years. She is survived by siblings Kathryn Bulisky (the late Stan) of Glen Mills, and Chuck Van Horn (Peggy) of Aston, along with her niece Lexi Bulisky and nephews Dalton Van Horn, Nicholas Bulisky, and Billy Inzerillo.

Friends and family are invited to Carol’s Memorial Service on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home. There will be a calling from 1:30-3pm with her service beginning at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD, 21741.
