Carol Biedrzycki, aged 79, died peacefully on October 17, 2026 after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia, Carol attended St. Bernard Parish School and graduated from St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Ceslava “Ceil” Biedrzycki.
Carol enjoyed a long and distinguished career in federal government service in Philadelphia, most notably as administrative assistant to Richard A. Powers III, federal magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Carol was a kind and caring woman who was deeply loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to destinations including Acapulco, Mexico; Hilton Head, S.C.; California; and New Mexico, where she even took a hot-air balloon ride. She also enjoyed time in Avalon, N.J., where she loved settling into a beach chair with a good book. An avid reader, Carol also enjoyed keeping up with the news and politics, watching Antiques Roadshow, and celebrating holidays and special occasions with family. She always brought a warm smile and hugs for everyone.
Carol is survived by her brother, Richard C. Biedrzycki (Ricki); her nieces, Lisa Kolb Ruland (Brodie) of Washington, D.C., and Elizabeth Ceccarelli (Justin) of Newtown Square, P.A.; and her great-nephew and great-nieces Justin, Merrin, and Margot. She also is survived by many cousins.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carol’s life on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Rigby, Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th St., Media, PA 19063. Visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
