Barbara Joan Mitchell (nee McClintock), 92, a resident of Clifton Heights, PA passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, just days shy of her 93rd birthday.

Barbara was born October 25, 1933 in Philadelphia. She graduated from Bartrum High School. She married the late George Mitchell, moving to Clifton Heights. Barbara worked as a bank teller until her retirement.

A lifelong, avid reader Barbara also enjoyed spending time with family, watching QVC and a glass of Taylor port wine while watching General Hospital. If you knew Barbara, you knew not to call her at 3:00.

Barbara proudly lived independently until her passing. She loved decorating her home for the change of seasons and all holidays. She had a steel trap mind when it came to dates, especially birthdays and she never missed sending cards to all.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Helen (nee Neely) McClintock and her siblings Helen (Albert) Heaton and Frank (Jean) McClintock. She is survived and will be missed by nieces and nephews Barbara (Jerry) Loux, Robert Heaton, Donna (Alan) Brody, Jane McClintock, Frank McClintock; brother-in-law James “Jimmy” Mitchell and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to Barbara’s funeral service on October 24, 2026 at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington cemetery. 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA.  There will be a visitation hour from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. The service will begin at 12 pm.
