Arpy Attarian
Jones
Jun 12, 1952 — Mar 20, 2026
Arpy Attarian Jones, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at Riddle Hospital. Born on June 12, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Arpy was raised by her mother, Mercedes in Lansdowne, PA and later made her home in Media, Pennsylvania, where she built a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Jeff Jones.
Arpy was a proud Armenian woman and the daughter of an Armenian genocide survivor, a heritage she carried with strength, pride, and deep respect throughout her life. She was a graduate of Lansdowne Aldan High School and went on to earn her associate degree in Business Administration from Philadelphia School of Office Training.
In her early career, Arpy worked as an administrative assistant at Wyeth Laboratories, where she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed playing softball both at work and as a pitcher in the Middletown Township league. After becoming a mother, she dedicated herself fully to her family, even starting her own medical transcription business so she could remain closely involved in her children's lives.
And involved she was—Arpy was the consummate homeroom mother, served as president of the Glenwood PTG, supported Troop 404 BSA as part of the Eagle Scout committee, and was an assistant coach and devoted scorekeeper for her daughter's softball teams. She was not just present—she was the heart of every activity.
Arpy had a vibrant personality and a deep love for life. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, theatre, and was a true foodie who delighted in sharing meals with family and friends. She loved word games, Motown music, ice skating, and especially playing the piano for her family. She was known as a second mother to her children's friends, a role she embraced with warmth and generosity.
Above all, Arpy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an extraordinary grandmother. She is survived by her cherished husband, Jeff Jones; her son, Stephen Jones and his wife Jennifer; her daughter, Lauren Young and her husband Brandon, and her four adored grandchildren: Paige, Dylan, Chase, and Benjamin. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Linda Palumbo, along with countless extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Arpy will be remembered for her kindness, her energy, her unwavering dedication to her family, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. She was truly the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend anyone could ask for.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, at St. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 630 Clothier Road, Wynnewood PA 19096. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the funeral service immediately following from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Cumberland Cemetery, 447 Middletown Road, Media PA.
Arpy's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
