Arlene Longley (née Sharpless), 79 years, a longtime resident of Media and more recently of West Chester, passed away on July 30, 2023 surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald D. Longley Sr., a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Arlene was born in Media to Howard and Arlene Sharpless and graduated from Penncrest High School in 1961. She lived in Media and worked at the Courthouse for many years before moving to Venice, Florida and later West Chester where she resided for the past nine years.

Arlene loved shopping, knitting, playing cards with friends, and lottery scratchers.  She spent hours chatting on the phone and connecting with friends on Facebook. A lover of travel, Arlene went on many cruises and looked forward to time spent on the beach by the ocean. She enjoyed watching wildlife and loved cats and dogs. Arlene created beautiful scrapbooks with her many treasured family photos.

She is survived by her children Constance Whartnaby (Harry) of Bear, DE, Carolyn Lucci (Anthony) of Media, PA, Ron Longley (Robyn Mills) of Lincoln University, PA, and Susan Detwiler (Dave) of Phoenixville, PA; 5 grandchildren: John, Katherine, Nicholas, Sara and Samuel; and 3 great-grandchildren: William, Gabriel, Annika.
