Obituary

Anna Theresa DeFidelto (née Esposito) peacefully passed away at the age of 97 on March 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family who were blessed to call her their devoted Mom, Grandmom and GiGi.

Predeceased by her husband Louis and grandson Derek, Anna is survived by her children: Mary Ann Saleski (Don), Debra Pitts (Jim), Carol Stem (the late Willard) Cynthia DeFidelto (Michael Medway), and Louis DeFidelto (Maritza).

She was adored by and enjoyed a close relationship over the years with her 13 grandchildren: Erika Saleski (Todd Lieberman), Adam Saleski (Courtney), Matthew Pitts (Kim), Jacqueline Smith (Kyle), Marc Pitts (Erin), Nicole Kovitch (Tim), Zachary Pitts (Ashley), Annie Pitts, Kyle Stem (Katie), Drew Stem (Sami Lynn), Keith Stem, Giovanni DeFidelto and the late Derek Stem.

She is survived by and was always grateful for her 18 great-grandchildren: Olivia and Penelope Lieberman, Griffin, Nate, Anna and John James (JJ) Saleski, Luna Pitts, Leah and Luke Smith, Naomi and Marco Pitts, Isabella Pitts, Hudson, Sienna and Niko Stem, Carmella and Eve Stem, and Roman Joseph who was born within 24 hours of her passing.

She is survived by brothers Frank Esposito, Tom Esposito (Marie), and sister Viola Walker (Joe). Anna was also admired and loved by many nieces and nephews.

A devoted Catholic, Anna was a member of St. Madeline Parish, Ridley Park, PA for 73 years, attending Mass daily for most of her life. With a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, Anna was often seen holding her rosary, surely keeping her loved ones in her prayers.

Originally from Southwest Philadelphia, she loved her home in Ridley Park where she resided for over 70 years and took her last breath. She was described by many as an elegant and classy Lady - a true fashionista - who was always friendly and helpful on her daily walks. Family of all ages loved her sense of humor, spending Sunday Dinners laughing at her stories and enjoying her good cooking.

She was always willing to help others, teach her Grandkids about the good old days, and certainly will be remembered by many cherished memories.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media, PA, on Friday, March 8th. Visitation in the church will begin at 9:30 followed by Mass at 11 am. A family burial at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery will immediately follow Mass.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Madeline Parish, 110 Park Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078. stmadelineparish.com
