Willetts, Alice "Putty"

Age 94, or Swarthmore, PA, died peacefully in her home on June 6, 2020.  Putty grew up in Swarthmore, graduating from Swarthmore High School in 1943, and Temple University Magna Cum Laude in 1947.  She was an exceptional athlete, playing all Varsity sports throughout her education years, becoming a member of the US Field Hockey Team, and being elected to seven Halls of Fame.  Putty became a teacher and coach at SHS and then Strath Haven, changing the lives of countless students.  Putty later founded the Swarthmore Senior Citizens Association and the "Dew Drop Inn", an intergenerational center in Swarthmore.

Putty's contributions to the town of Swarthmore are too many to list.  She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
